Capsicum dhal - a zone above comfort!

This is super simple yet the most tastiest dhal. I stumbled upon it when i wanted to make a hurried meal for my friend who was sick. I had no other vegetable but capsicum and had some cooked moong dhal too and hence the recipe was born. It is such a breeze. I was amazed at the simplicity; yet the taste it imparted was just heavenly. Goes well with rotis, idli, dosa and ofcourse our staple rice. The lemon in the dhal is the taste enhancer.

Ingredients

1 cup cooked moong dhal
1 cup cubed capsicum
5 greenchillies
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon jeera powder
juice of 1 lemon
salt to taste
2 teaspoons oil/ghee
1/2 teaspoon hing
1/2 teaspoon musturd and jeera each

Method

Add the oil or ghee in a skillet and add the mustard, jeera, hing and chillies when it cracks add the capsicum pieces and saute them till just done about 3 minutes and add jeera powder and coriander powder and mix well. Then add the dhal with some water with the salt and boil it for 2 minutes, put off the stove and add the lemon juice and serve.
