This crisp roti was made out of bajra flour. I did not really mean to make it. I had been asking my neighbor cum friend who is from b'lore for her famous akki roti recipe for a long time. When i visited her one the days she was making yum jowar rotis which were counter parts of the Delicious akki roti. I got lucky enough to taste it. I instantly thought about the lines i was going to describe it in my blog. The skill with she made it doesn't come easy; i realized that once i finished making the roti. Got the "know-how's" from her and started at it for lunch the next afternoon. After some battle with the tava i finally made 3 out of 4 perfect. I was fretting over the fact that it was not easy to make these kind of rotis while i just found out that instead of jowar flour i had used the bajra flour! Who ever said accidents like this do happen in the kitchen, said it very right. The outcome of my accident was this delicious Bajra roti. I named it bajra de roti to link it the background it has in my kitchen. But nevertheless i have tasted delicious Bajra roti's made by some marwari and gujrathi friends of mine. But this name particularly rings a bell down my memory lane when we had rotis of all kinds in a place called Dhola re dhani in Hyderabad. A very nostalgic taste for me!
